[Update] "Nintendo was dead to us very quickly," says EA source

EA's chief operating officer Peter Moore has taken to Twitter to discredit the claim that Nintendo 'is dead' to the firm.

Nintendo and EA aren't getting along so well these days, it seems, according to a source within the publisher, who says it doesn't make games for kids.

It follows quite a 'wild' rumour that Nintendo is working on a pair of new consoles. Like I said, 'wild.'

Now, speaking with CVG an alleged EA source has said, "Nintendo was dead to us very quickly. It became a kids IP platform and we don't really make games for kids. That was pretty true across the other labels too. Even the Mass Effect title on Wii U, which was a solid effort, could never do big business, and EA like Activision is only focused on games that can be big franchises".

It follows Nintendo's profit loss warning, and calls for Satoru Iwata to resign.
