Nintendo to launch 'Play As You Are' campaign alongside female celebrities
Residents of the United States will soon see a host of celebrities discussing their love for all things Nintendo 3DS and 3DS XL. The company is preparing a campaign designed to show how girls and women can enjoy the handheld.
The 'Play As You Are' promotion is aimed towards females whether they play games or not.
TV stars Dianna Agron (of Fox’s Glee), Sarah Hyland (of ABC’s Modern Family) and Olympic medal-winning gymnast Gabrielle Douglas are joining up with Nintendo to give the campaign a public boost. Each celebrity will explain how games support their particular interests and activities, thus showcasing the diversity of such a medium.
"These women are all amazing role models with their own unique tastes and talents," said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo America's executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. "They know firsthand how Nintendo 3DS can keep them entertained and engaged wherever they go. We think young girls and women of all ages will enjoy hearing what they have to say about their favorite games and activities on Nintendo 3DS."
The campaign launches on October 1.
