Nintendo has sold 268.97 million consoles and 385.15 million handhelds since the Famicom launched in 1983, according to the firm.
The numbers, included in Nintendo's Q1 financials, also revealed the firm has sold 2.195 billion software units on console and 1.907 billion units on handheld devices.
Company president Satoru Iwata said during the Q1 call to investors Nintendo would return to 'Nintendo-like' profits for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2014 by "providing many people with fascinating games and services."
Last week, Nintendo reported sales of ¥81.5 billion, with the total number of global Wii U hardware sales for the quarter at just 160,000.
Thanks, GoNintendo.
