New Japanese 3DS XL owners can get Pokemon X or Y for free in June
Nintendo has extended its "Recommended Software" promotion on Japan, which sees new 3DS XL (or the 'LL' as it's known there) owners gifted a free game out of a selection that rotates each month. Starting June, Pokemon X & Y will be added to that list. Jealous?
It works like this: Those who buy a new 3DS LL have until September 30 to download a free game of their choice from a short-list of titles. But if the selection doesn't appeal, games can hold off for a month to see if the next roster of games takes their fancy.
Between April 26 and May 30, the selection consisted of Animal Crossing: New Leaf and Yo-kai Watch.
Come June, the roster will lose Yo-kai Watch, but will be bolstered with Pokemon X, Pokemon Y, Pokémon Art Academy and Puzzle & Dragons Z. Users can choose one free game from the selection or wait to see what other months will bring before deciding.
It's not a bad deal, we're sure you'll agree. Which of these games would you pick as your one freebie?
