Nier project officially titled Nier Automata
The latest Nier title from Platinum Games has an official title.
According to the latest issue of Famitsu, the game is titled Nier Automata, and is set on ravaged earth where androids called Yorha are battling machine life forms, according to Gematsu.
Here's the game's synopsis:
In the distant future, the earth was invaded by machine life forms and humanity fled to the moon. On a defense base satellite orbiting the planet, androids have been fighting the invaders in place of humans. During the 14th Drop Operation, the new-type android unit Yorha troop is attacked unexpectedly and only four remain (No. 2, No. 4, No. 16, and NO. 21)."
As previously reported, Square Enix’s Taro Yoko is directing the project, with Platinum’s Osaka and Tokyo offices handling development. Characters were designed by CyDesignation’s Akihiko Yoshida, and NieR's original composer, Keiichi Okabe, handling the soundtrack.
Nier Automata is in development for PlayStation 4 and is without a release date. Paris Games Week kicks off tomorrow, October 28, and we expect Square Enix to reveal more on the game.
