Nier: Automata is 50% off this weekend on Steam and on the US PS Store for PS4
To celebrate the one year anniversary of Nier: Automata, Square Enix is offering the game for half-off on PS4 and Steam.
Square Enix announced today a sale for Nier: Automata, which will save you quite a bit of coin. A video message regarding the anniversary from game director Yoko Taro was also released. It's below.
PC users interested in picking up the action-RPG from Platinum Games will pay $29.99 instead of the regular price of $59.99.
PS4 users can grab it for the same price through the North American end of the PS Store. It doesn't seem to be on sale through the EU PS Store - at least as of press time.
The 50% off sale ends on March 14 through Steam and March 20 through the PS Store.
Nier: Automata was released in Japan on February 23 and was made available in North America on March 7 and in Europe March 10.
It arrived on Steam for PC March 17. It's worth noting the PC version hasn't been patched yet, so it's possible players will come across screen resolution issues and "erratic" framerate.
Modder Kaldaien released an unofficial patch addressing these issues, and another modder, DrDaxxy, took a pass at the Global Illumination issue. You should make sure you're having issues first before installing either mod, and look over each one beforehand as well.
Since release, Nier: Automata’s shipment and digital sales have exceeded two million units. It sold 198,542 units during its first week of availability on PlayStation 4 in Japan.
In April 2017, Square announced the game had exceeded one million in shipments and digital sales. By September, it had reached the two million mark.
Nier: Automata received really nice scores upon release.
