Ni No Kuni Witch Wizard's Edition "oversold" customers offered consolation items by Namco
Namco Bandai has issued a response to the Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch Wizard's Edition "oversold" fiasco which distributor Digital River claimed occurred due to "an error in [its] ordering system."
Many orders for the Wizard's Edition were cancelled once the initial stock was sent out, payment will be refunded to those who were given the short end of the stick.
As a consolation, Namco Bandai Games is offering those affected a $20 clubNamco voucher along with a 400 page, hard bound copy of the game's strategy guide which includes an exclusive code to unlock a Gold Hurly Familiar in the game.
Namco also said it is 'working to ensure that a situation like this never happens again."
"Our E-commerce provider will be contacting the affected customers in the coming days with instructions on how to obtain their copy of the Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch strategy guide," the company said. "We hope that this can give the affected consumers some comfort; Namco Bandai truly does value and care about its fans."
The firm said in a statement handed to D'toid, that it does not "nor has it ever" worked with the eBay seller PlayCanada which is selling the Wizard's Edition of the game online for an ungodly amount.
"According to our records, this individual or group of individuals purchased Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch – Wizard’s Edition during the NinoStarter promotion period," said the firm. "At which time, no limits were placed on how many units an individual could order.
"PlayCanada’s claims that they officially worked with Namco Bandai Games America to obtain their stock is entirely false."
Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch was released on January 22 in the US and releases on February 1 in Europe.
Thanks, manamana.
