How to Earn Money Quickly in Ni no Kuni 2

The main currency of Ni no Kuni 2 comes in the form of Gilders, and you’re going to want to hoard a lot of these in the opening hours of the JRPG. Your main source of earning Gilders is simple: head into battle against everything you can find on the world map of Ni no Kuni 2, and remember to always collect all the small brown bags that drop from enemies after they’re killed, as this denotes Gilders that’re yours for the taking.

This is going to be your only method of obtaining Gilders at a steady pace through the opening hours of Ni no Kuni 2, although once you’ve ventured out to the town of Golden Paw in the south, you gain access to new ways to make some quick money. There are tons of vendors located all throughout Golden Paw, who will buy basically anything you have in your inventory that isn’t equipped to a character. This means you can sell all the useless melee and ranged weapons you’ve accumulated on your journey so far, as well some crafting items if you’re willing to risk going without them.

How to Earn Kingsguilders in Ni no Kuni 2

Kingsguilders, on the other hand, is an entirely different currency to the standard Guilders, and it’s this second currency that Evan can use to upgrade his Evermore kingdom when it’s founded in chapter 3. Whereas you can earn Guilders through fighting enemies and selling the spoils you gain from battle, the only way you have of obtaining Kingsguilders is through the hard work of your Evermore population.

As Roland explains when you first establish Evermore, you can collect the earnings of your population by selecting the collection option from the Evermore menu, which will give you a certain amount of Kingsguilders based on the time that’s passed since you last emptied the bank of your kingdom.

However, there’s one neat trick to boosting the amount of Kingsguilders your population generate over time. If you spend the initial amount of Kingsguilders given to you on establishing the maximum amount of buildings in Evermore possible, then the amount of Kingsguilders generated will immediately increase. The amount of the currency that’s generated appears to be tied to the amount of citizens and buildings you have, so even if your buildings aren’t actually populated and run by any workers, they’ll still generate a tidy amount of Kingsguilders for you to collect on a fairly regular basis.
