NHL 12 sets a new PB for first-week sales
Gamers love their hockey now more than ever it seems, as Electronic Arts reports NHL 12 has sold more than 451,000 units in just its first week - a new record for the franchise when it comes to first-week sales. To celebrate, they're taking the whole gang out - to Facebook.
The sales figures show a 19% year-over-year improvement in first-week sales for the NHL franchise, which is nothing to scoff at.
Gamasutra has revealed that the game is now headed to social media, sort of - with NHL Superstars headed to Facebook. The free-to-play game will let players "build and manage their ultimate team of professional hockey players."
We don't yet know if that means you can add your best friend as the goalkeeper in your fantasy league, or if you'll have to deal with the "professionals" like Wayne Gretzky and Gordie Howe.
