New IP shows industry is healthy, "bullish" - Gamestop boss

GameStop executive vice president Mike Hogan is excited by the wave of fresh IP coming with new consoles, as he believes it shows the industry is on track.

Speaking with [a]list Daily, Hogan acknowledged the selling power of established properties like Grand Theft Auto 5, but said there are even better things to come.

"What probably excites me the most is the amount of new IP you're seeing in the category. It could be Titanfall, it could be Watch_Dogs, it could be a number of things," he said.

"Seeing companies investing tens of millions of dollars in new IP is a great sign of health. It means people are bullish."

Thanks, GamesIndustry.
