New 4-player indie horror GTFO turns heads at TGA 2017 - check out the first gameplay trailer
GTFO got a warm reception at The Game Awards 2017. You'll see why.
GTFO is a four player co-op horror game from a new Swedish indie called 10 Chambers Collective, led by ex-Payday creative Ulf Andersson.
The team presented GTFO's debut gameplay trailer at The Game Awards 2017, where it was very well-received - take a look below. You'll see a team of four players descend into a network of underground tunnels, The Complex, as voiceover drops dark hints regarding the GTFO's setting and story.
The stealthy operation goes wrong after an alarm is triggered accidentally, and then gameplay turns into all-out action against hordes of monstrous enemies. There will also be puzzle solving, apparently, and 10 Chambers Collective said players will never know their "way or where the monsters are", which suggests we might be looking at a procedurally generated affair.
In a press release issued after the show, the indie revealed GTFO's lead writer is Adam Gascoine. Although the PR notes he is known for The Last of Us, it looks like Gascoine actually served as a designer on Naughty Dog's post-apocalyptic epic. He does have narrative credits, though, on Call of Duty: Black Ops, Call of Duty's Nazi Zombies campaign and the new Doom.
Billed as unpredictable and replayable, GTFO was announced with a teaser earlier this year but this is the first time we've had a look at it or received any solid information.
Look for it in 2018. Platforms were not detailed, but PC is a cert, as GTFO is already on Steam.
