New 3DS and New 3DS XL , Wii U bundles announced
Nintendo announced new takes on 3DS hardware today.
Nintendo's "New Nintendo 3DS" and "New Nintendo 3DS XL" were announced today.
The new takes on the handheld hardware will feature coloured face buttons and new ZR and LR buttons.
A new camera control nub is to be included above the face buttons, and the power button, card inserts and stylus will move to the bottom of the device.
The new models will be able to connect to Nintendo's upcoming Amiibo figurines.
The hardware's workings have been up-powered, apparently cutting down on loading times. 3D functionality has been reworked to reduce blur.
The New 3DS will cost for 16,000 yen (£93) and the New 3DS XL will sell for for 18,800 yen (£109). They're out in Japan on October 11. There's no western release date as yet, but Eurogamer's reporting they won't head to Europe until 2015.
Customers in Japan will also be able to purchase Super Smash Bros. and Monster Hunter themed systems.
For those who want to dress up their old 3DS, 38 new faceplates will be on offer, with themes ranging from Animal Crossing to Mario, and solid colors.
In addition, Nintendo today announced new Wii U bundles for the US: the Super Mario 3D World Deluxe Set arriving mid-September which comes with a Wii U, physical copy of Super Mario 3D World and Nintendo Land for $299.99; Walmart will exclusively carry a Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Set starting mid-September.
The bundle includes the console, a physical copy of Mario Kart 8 and Nintendo Land for $299.99; finally, three Nintendo 2DS Bundles will arrive in October in either Electric Blue, Crimson Red or Sea Green. Each comes with a code to download Mario Kart 7 from the Nintendo eShop. All three will run you $129.99.
