Neverwinter devs issue rollback after Auction House and Astral Diamond Exchange exploit found
Neverwinter players who are playing the beta may have noticed a rollback, after Crytpic was informed by players of an exploit which some players used to their economic advantage. Recall the recent exploit in Diablo 3 which resulted in the Auction Houses being brought down and you get the idea.
In order to fix the issue, Cryptic rolled back user accounts to undo the damage.
"This past weekend, the Neverwinter community helped us to identify a major exploit involving the Auction House and Astral Diamond Exchange, which we promptly addressed through a number of corrective actions, including permanent bans on exploitative accounts and a necessary rollback to the time before the exploit was initiated," reads a statement on the official website.
"We realize the frustration that the rollback and related downtime may have caused and are deeply sorry for this inconvenience. We’re also overwhelmed by your positive support and patience during the downtime, as well as your assistance in identifying the issue and helping us to develop and implement a solution as quickly as possible."
As a both a thank you and an apology to players affected, Cryptic is handing players the Caterday Survivor's Pack, which includes: a Stone of Health, the Cape of Catastrophe, a Dwarven Facemask, five Teleport Scrolls – Protector's Enclave, and two Adventurer's XP Boosters.
All characters that have been created before 5AM Pacific on Sunday, May 19, will receive the Caturday Survivor’s Pack, which will appear in your in-game mail as an attachment. The items within the Caturday Survivor’s Pack are bound to each character that receives it.
Neverwinter is out on PC sometime this year.
