Attracting regular cats to your garden in Neko Atsume is typically a matter of setting out plenty of food and toys, but it takes more work to bring rare cats to your yard. Here's what you need to do in order to attract each one of Neko Atsume's rare cats.
Note: Rare cat hunting takes patience. If you set out a rare cat's favorite item, commoner cats may play with it for a long time before the rare kitty comes into the scene. If a certain rare cat is a constant no-show, try putting out fancier food like Tuna Bitz or sashimi. Don't give up!
Peaches -- Though not classified as a rare cat, Peaches is a very rare sight. Here's how to become Peaches' friend.
Joe DiMeowgio -- Put out the baseball, and this tiny Hanshin Tiger will eventually arrive to play ball.
Senor Don Gato -- Puss in Boots has a lot of fans in Japan thanks to Toei Animation's feature film. Don Gato likes the Mr Mouse item.
Xerxes IX -- This royal Persian likes the Zanzibar cushion and the royal bed items. Interestingly, he's not fussy about which food you put out.
Chairman Meow -- The Chairman is a reference to Japan's Neko Nabe ("Cats in Pots") meme. He loves the earthenware pot, as well as the sunken fireplace (which has a hanging pot!).
Saint Purrtrick -- This heavenly kitty is a two-tailed cat yokai. He loves the silk crepe pillow and the kotatsu.
Miss Fortune -- Fortune is a lucky maneki neko cat, so she needs a house to bestow her luck upon. Give her the cardboard house item.
Bob the Cat -- Bob is a wild Japanese mountain cat – or he thinks he is, anyway. Give him the cat metropolis to climb.
Conductor Whiskers -- Based on the late, great feline station master Tama, Tama oversees the twisty rail and cardboard choo choo items.
Tubbs -- Huge white cat. Eats everything in sight. Just put out any food better than Thrifty Bitz, and he'll show up. Don't hate on him, though – he's a good source of income.
Mr Meowgi -- The wise sensei loves the sakura pillow and scratching log.
Lady Meow Meow -- Only the luxurious hammock is good enough for this American shorthair. She also won't show up for any food that's not sashimi.
Guy Furry -- This snazzy chef will cook you a curry over the heating stove, or make a parfait in the glass vase.
Kathmandu -- A historical noble-cat who loves the Temari ball and the lacquered bowl.
Ramses the Great -- King Raaaamses (the Cat in Gauze) enjoys the pyramid tent. He's a hairless sphynx cat, which, interestingly, is a Canadian breed.
Sassy Fran -- Give Fran the cardboard café, and you'll literally have a cat café!
Billy the Kitten -- Billy is a powerful nihilist who shows up for the cowboy hat.
Frosty -- This snow bunny-cat loves the snowy pillow and the silk crepe pillow. She's shy, so it might take a while for her to show up.
Sapphire and Jeeves -- Though chronicled separately in the Catbook, Sapphire is never seen without her valet, Jeeves. These are very high-class cats who love high tea under the fairy-tale parasol, or on top of the tower of treats. Only Tuna Bitz appeal to them.
Bengal Jack -- Every pirate needs a treasure to hunt, so make sure this adventurous Bengal can access the luxury treasure box.
