NBA Live 15 release date pushed back beyond NBA 2K15's
NBA Live 15 has been delayed, putting its new launch a few weeks after its chief rival's.
NBA Live 15's release date is now October 28, three weeks after its originally announced October 7 launch.
The new date was announced on the official website, but we didn't get a press release; it's inetresting that EA Sports is keeping it quiet.
It's impossible to talk about NBA Live 15 without mentioning NBA 2K15, because 2K Sports' latest is in fact releasing on October 7. It's hard to tell whether a delay will harm NBA Live 15's chances of taking a slice of the basketball sim pie, or improve it.
NBA Live 15 is the second game in the franchise to release after EA put the series to bed for a little bit while it tried to build a product to rival the regularly brilliant offerings from 2K Sports Visual Concepts.
NBA Live 14 didn't live up to these hopes, but the latest NBA Live 15 trailer looks pretty good.
NBA Live 15 is coming to PS4 and Xbox One only, whereas NBA 2K15 will release as at least five SKUs across generations. There are reasons to believe this gives advantage to both sides; EA Sports doesn't have to developer for disparate platforms, but 2K Sports can target a wider audience.
Thanks, CVG.
