Natural Doctrine directed by Patapon series director
Fantasy strategy RPG Natural Doctrine is overseen by Atsushi Ii, best known for the Patapon series of rhythm action strategy RPG hybrids.
New information was released in this week's Dengeki PlayStation, as reported by Gematsu, including word of Ii's involvement in the project as director.
Character design is being handled by Ufotable’s Atsushi Ikariya, and Noriyuki Asakura is providing music.
The magazine also had further details on the turn-based RPG's gameplay. It will have large battlefields to accommodate a large number of characters. It will have single-player, co-operative and competitive multiplayer modes, but single-player and multiplayer will be quite different.
In battle, players can dynamically control time, and command more than one unit in one space.
The story concerns a protagonist named If, accompanied by two female party members, Vashiri and Anka.
Natural Doctrine is coming to PlayStation 3, PS4 and Vita in February, but has not been confirmed for release outside Japan. It was announced earlier this month with a debut trailer. Still no word on what the title means; word is it will have some sort of significant impact on gameplay.
