More than 25% of Steam users have jumped to Windows 10

Windows 10's incessant upgrade nagging is clearly working.

Over a quarter of Steam users are already running Windows 10, according to the service's hardware survey. Not bad for an OS that launched in July.

At 26.42% of survey participants, Windows 10 is second only to Windows 7 64 bit at 36.67%. Poor old unloved Windows 8 trails in third place at 17.46%.

Windows 10 is gaining ground, too, with a 2.43% increase since last month, or 2.55% if you count all versions. No other Microsoft OS is currently recording growth, which isn't terribly surprising.

The hardware survey is opt-in, but it's still a pretty interesting glimpse at what's going on in the world of PC gaming. Visit Steam to check it out.
