New images of rumored Nintendo NX controller surface
Last week, images of the purported Nintendo NX controller were posted online, but many felt the images were sketchy. And rightly so. Today, two more images of the controller have surfaced.
These new hi-rez images come courtesy of reddit user perkele37 who stressed the controller isn't "the final design," as its part of the Devkit.
The images show the controller unit for the console in which only the "upper nubs" of the sticks move. The bottom part is static similar to a circle pad, but it "moves along the bottom sphere," and the rollers on the top "feel and look pretty much identical to a mouse scroll-wheel."
"Haptic feedback is feels like Apples 'taptic' engine. Not like regular rumble. [It features a] 3.5mm headphone jack on the bottom," he said.
Again, perkele37 stressed he doesn't "believe this will be the final design," so keep that in mind.
Also, despite the crisp images, this is to be considered a rumor due to the inability to verify the images are indeed of the NX controller.
Earlier this week, Japanese financial outlet Nikkei reported Nintendo planned to cease production on Wii U consoles in order to reduce inventory ahead of Nintendo NX’s release. Nintendo denied the rumor.
Nintendo is expected to reveal its new console sometime around E3 2016.
