Monster Hunter World Weapon Tier List Guide
We're not entirely sure what the schedule is for taking the weapon tier survey for MHW, but it appears to roughly tie in with new patches for the game. Just below, we'll be revealing the weapon tier list for Monster Hunter World, which be believe are the latest at the time of writing.
Solo Weapon Tier List:
- Tier SSS - Dual Blades, Light Bowgun, Long Sword
- Tier SS - Charge Blade, Great Sword, Switch Axe, Heavy Bowgun
- Tier S - Lance, Gunlance, Bow
- Tier A - Hammer, Insect Glaive, Sword & Shield
- Tier B - Hunting Horn
Co-Op Weapon Tier List:
- Tier SSS - Long Sword, Dual Blades, Bow
- Tier SS - Light Bowgun, Heavy Bowgun, Charge Blade, Insect Glaive
- Tier S - Hammer, Gunlance, Switch Axe, Great Sword
- Tier A - Lance, Hunting Horn
- Tier B - Sword & Shield
And there you have it, this is the latest list of weapons in Monster Hunter World, ranked by the community themselves. It makes sense that the Hunting Horn would be the lowest ranked weapon for solo play, and the Long Sword deserves its position atop the rankings for both categories.
It’s also somewhat surprising that the Insect Glaive isn’t rated higher for solo play, given that it can be used to easily dodge a monster’s attacks and mount the monster in the process. The Hammer could also be rated slightly higher, given its devastating charge attack abilities, and the fact that it can stun virtually any monster in the game if you land a charge attack to the head of the monster.
As we mentioned previously, we'll be updating this list whenever we come across any new surveys that are taken in the wake of changeups to the way weapons work in MHW.
