Monster Hunter World is finally getting high-resolution textures on PC
Capcom has revealed that Monster Hunter World will soon receive the often requested high-res textures on PC.
The PC version of Monster Hunter World leaves a lot to be desired, but one particular sticking point many noted was how shockingly poor texture quality can be in certain spots.
Comparisons at the time revealed that PC textures can be of lower resolution than Xbox One X, which didn't make much sense. Capcom has seemingly taken notice, because the publisher confirmed the PC version will receive higher resolution textures next month.
On April 4, the texture pack will go live on the game's Steam page, available for anyone to download freely. They require 40GB of free space, and Capcom recommends only players with 8GB of VRAM or more use them. The company also promised more detailed PC specs closer to launch.
On the same day, Monster Hunter World will also receive a patch on PC to add TAA+FXAA as an anti-aliasing option, and make a couple of other quality of life fixes.
The update goes live at 12am GMT on April 4, and you can check out all the changes below:
- Added support for High Resolution Texture Pack DLC.
- Added a "TAA+FXAA" option to anti-aliasing in the Advanced Graphics Settings.
- When selecting "Take All" at the rewards screen after completing a quest, a list of all items received will now be displayed.
- Added a new mouse control type that is less sensitive to unintentional movement when controlling the Focus Camera with the mouse.
- Added a "Friends Can Join" option to the Private Session Settings.
- Various bug fixes, including localisation-related issues.
