Monster Hunter World - here's some more details on Bounties and Research quests

Capcom has provided more information on the Bounty system and Research quests in Monster Hunter World.

Monster Hunter World features three types of Bounties and Research quests which players can pick up.

As we previously told you, players can carry six Bounties at a time in Monster Hunter World and the conditions which need to be met can be acquired while out hunting.

This means players can acquire the raw materials needed for the Bounties, such as materials and hunting certain monsters, while out and about in the world. Because of this, it's probably a good idea to go ahead and register a Bounty before heading out, but that's the player's call.

According to the latest issue of Famitsu, via Gematsu, Bounties are assigned by researchers and the types are: Registered, Essential, and Distributed.

Registered Bounties can be picked up from the list available at the Research Resource Management Station at any time. Essential Bounties will unlock facilities and Distributed Bounties will be distributed online at fixed intervals. It should be noted contents of Distributed Bounties cannot be registered; however, they offer better rewards than Registered.

Players can also earn Armor Spheres and Research Points when the Bounties are completed. Also, Research Quests come from Research Reports which are discovered out in the game world.

Those familiar with Monster Hunter will notice Guild Cards have made a return. These can be exchanged with other players and doing so will cause their companion to pop up on occasion to help you in the field.

Finally, players can expect more content post launch such as new monsters, limited time online Event Quests, and collaboration equipment made from materials collected during Event Quests.

There will be paid content released as well, but Capcom said it will affect game progression. Once such item included in paid content will be new outfits for the receptionist.

Monster Hunter World releases January 26 for PS4 and Xbox One. A closed PS Plus beta was held over the weekend and has concluded.

It will release for PC at a later date.
