The early sales numbers for Monster Hunter: World are big enough to impress an Elder Dragon. In Japan alone, the game moved 1,350,412 retail copies within three days.
These numbers were posted by Famitsu earlier today (via Gematsu). Famitsu points out when digital sales are also considered, Monster Hunter: World's sales numbers probably exceed two million.
That's a record high for the first week sales of a PlayStation 4 game. What's more, the PlayStation 4 (and PlayStation 4 Pro) has seen its best sales week since the console debued on February 17, 2014. Monster Hunter: World helped sell 140,432 PlayStation 4's for the week between January 22 and 28. By contrast, 44,910 systems were moved last week. That brings the total number of PlayStation 4s sold in Japan to 6,187,000.
These numbers are exclusive to Japan, where the game isn't available on Xbox One. Monster Hunter: World is coming to PC later this year.
