Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate profile introduced Nibelsnarf

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate's Nibelsnarf is the stuff of dreams for games magazine writers. Imagine the captions. "Reminds me of my mother-in-law." Pay rises all round.
According to Capcom Unity, the Nibelsnarf is a Leviathan type and is quite unique, having the most in common with Monster Hunter Tri's Gobul.
The Gobul was an aquatic beast, but the Nibelsnarf "swims" through sandy deserts. It can suck sand and objects into its mouth and spit them out in a special attack, or vent sand through its gills to protect its rear.
Sonic Bombs and Barrel Bombs will apparently help you fight this nasty foe when Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate releases on 3DS and Wii U on March 19 in the US and March 22 in Europe.
