Molyneux's E3 predictions: Bungie announce, Valve appearance
Former Lionhead boss Peter Molyneux will be part of Spike TV's E3 commentary team this year, and has warned that platform holders will have to push to impress this year.
In an email published by Kotaku, the Fable creator didn't seem very impressed by what hardware manufacturers will show this time around.
"Sony and Microsoft are holding their breath on next gen," he noted. "[It will be] interesting to see how they pad out another year. Price cuts, form factors?
"Nintendo's slightly lack lustre Wii U is going to have to blow us away with better specs and great first party line up," he added.
Speaking of individual games, the creative said he's excited to see Grand Theft Auto V, but "only in a mildly curious way", but is, as ever, keen to see what Valve brings to the table - although the developer has denied a major announce this year.
"I would expect some announcement from Bungie," Molyneux said, and on the topic of shooters, noted wryly that however Activision choose to show Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, it will be difficult to top Modern Warfare 3's New York demo from E3 2011.
"The real challenge is how the players are going to adapt to the mounting pressure of Facebook, Apple, Social, Cloud, Multi-Gaming," he added.
"Is the biggest news that E3 itself runs the risk of being outdated, or perhaps it already is?"
E3 2012 runs June 5 through 7.
