Modders are bringing the entire Red Dead Redemption map over into GTA 5 on PC
A group of modders are working bring Red Dead Redemption's full map into Grand Theft Auto 5 on PC.
Called Red Dead Redemption V, it's a modification for GTA5 featuring the full map with additional content. The team at .White promises the extra content contained in the mod will be revealed soon.
According to the FAQ provided by .White's Mr. Leisurewear, at present, the framework for the RDR map is there, and the team is "constantly fine tuning" the methods used to convert the game over into GTA 5. The goal is to get "as close to the original as possible."
Users can expect graphical improvements, and .White said since the maps were rather small on the Xbox 360 game, which is the version being used, the team is remaking a large portion of the maps. They will also add "Parallax Occlusion Mapping and Tessaslation where applicable."
That said, due to the version of Rockstar Advanced Game Engine (RAGE) used before GTA5 was developed, Red Dead Redemption "is the toughest" game to crack, so the team asks everyone looking forward to it to "be patient."
The plan is to also add multiplayer support for third-party clients FiveM\FiveReborn and others; however, the team said it does not condone the use of this mod in GTA Online.
A beta is planned for sometime this summer, and a teaser trailer will be coming soon. Until then, you will just have to enjoy looking at the screenshots
