Mobile gaming expands the console business, brings more people into the fold, says EA
Mobile gaming helps expand the console business, EA's CFO Blake Jorgensen believes.
Speaking this week at the 2014 Stifel Technology, Internet & Media Conference via Gamespot, Jorgensen said he doesn't see mobile cannibalizing the console business.
"It's bringing new people into the gaming business, but I don't see a day when it takes over the console experience," he said. "I think it will expand the console experience."
The reason, according to Jorgensen, is that you can't get experiences like Battlefield 4 on mobile.
"You just can't. Mobile is a much more quick, short burst of gameplay."
During last year's conference, Jorgensen said EA planned to support PS3 and Xbox 360 through 2017.
