Minecraft Exploration update brings llamas and serious treasure hunting with it
Try it before it goes live with snapshot.
The Minecraft Exploration update 1.11 for PC doesn't have a release date yet, but you can get an early look and help out with catching any bugs before launch now that the snapshot is live.
Llamas have been added and rest assured, they'll have the ability to spit. You can bedeck them with snazzy saddles, use them as pack mules, and they'll form a caravan behind any llama you use a lead on. Very handy.
The village cartographer will trade maps for emeralds, marking new dungeons like the Woodland Mansion - home to the outcast relations of the villagers. These Illagers will attack on sight making it a treacherous undertaking.
An "an inventory-expanding chest originating from The End itself" has also been introduced. A Shulker Box is pretty nifty - you can destroy it and place it elsewhere without losing any of the items stored inside.
The update will have you tossing down your mining tools in favour of setting off on an adventure, and the location console command will make that a hell of a lot easier giving players coordinates to key locations on the map.
"To get snapshots, open your launcher and press the 'New Profile' button. Call it 'snapshots' and check the box saying 'Enable experimental development snapshots' and save. To switch to the normal version, you can select it in the dropdown at the bottom left corner of the launcher."
Do remember to back up your world first as snapshots can corrupt it, and you wouldn't want that.
