Minecraft creator "kinda" feels like a sell-out, but made the right choice
Minecraft creator Markus "Notch" Persson has earned a peaceful retirement.
After selling Minecraft developer Mojang to Microsoft, Notch apparently feels a little bit guilty.
Speaking to fans on Twitter, he agreed that he "kinda" feels like he sold out.
Prior to making the sale Notch had already handed development of Minecraft over to his team, and had given up on creating new games. The pressure of living up to Minecraft seemed to weigh heavily on him.
Now Notch spends his days building prototypes for his own intellectual pleasure, not for money or the scrutiny of others.
Here at VG247 we hope Notch is enjoying his post-Minecraft life; changing the entire games industry once is enough for one lifetime.
Thanks, Gamespot.
