Mighty No. 9 developer contributing to both new Shantae games

Inti Creates, the studio building Keiji Inafune's Mighty No. 9, is collaborating with Wayforward Technologies by contributing artwork for both upcoming Shantae games.

In a new Kickstarter update, Wayforward revealed that Inti Creates is behind key artwork, concepts, and character illustrations for both current Shantae games - Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse and Shantae: Half-Genie Hero, which is currently being Kickstarted.

This came about when Inti Creates Makoto Yabe posted some fan art of Shantae, and then suggested Wayforward ask whether Inti Creates might be interested in contributing.

The collaboration makes a lot of sense; Wayforward is famous for its sidescrollers - particularly for its gorgeous sprites - and Inti Creates is working on the spiritual successor to one of the most famous side-scrollers of all time.

Although it tends to get buried behind the Capcom name, Inti Creates developed Mega Man 9, Mega Man 10, the Mega Man Zero Series, Mega Man ZX and Mega Man ZX Advent.
