Midgar Studios launches Edge of Eternity Kickstarter
Edge of Eternity, a turn-based JRPG of various genres, has headed to Kickstarter in hopes of catching old-school fan's eyes.
Indie developer Midgar Studios hopes to win fans over with a game that harks back to the days of headscratching, over-complex RPGs. Edge of Eternity is a hodgepodge of genres, mixing space, medieval, and steampunk all into one, not too dissimilar from the formula that Final Fantasy went for.
That's not Edge of Eternity's sole selling point. Part of the Kickstarter funds is going to power Midgar's Cloud Cross Platform. Since the hope is that the game will be available on a whopping amount of devices (iOS, Android, Windows Phone 8, Blackberry 10, PS Vita, Ouya, Wii U, Xbox One, PS4, PC, Linux, Mac), the Cloud Cross Platform allows players to pick up their saves at any point across any platform. All that's needed is to log into the game online.
The game is an ambitious project and it's why it's coming with an equally ambitious price tag of $200K. Thus so far, the project is only a fraction of a percent along its way, with a little over $5K raised.
