Microsoft talks Xbox Live changes, points, Games on Demand

Microsoft may have already announced the Games on Demand news, but Arstechnica got a hands-on with the new service and noted some of the other changes to expect.

First of all, if you don't like buying points, you won't have to anymore. You can just use a credit card to make purchases.

"We're going to have 30 or more games launching in August, worldwide, in all markets," said Microsoft's Scott Austin. "We'll also be adding new content in all of our markets weekly

"What you'll see here for the first time on the buy screen is we'll be showing the price in the local currency, and we're going to allow people to purchase with a credit card.

Secondly, once you purchase the game, you can go over to a buddy's house and play it there too because Microsoft will store the license information on the Live servers.

"We keep the license information on the Live servers, so the user who purchased it can roam to another console and play the game there," said Austin.

This will also allow you to delete the game to free up hard drive space, and then download it again at a later date.
