Microsoft is not satisfied with how Xbox One is selling in Japan
Xbox One launched less than four weeks ago in Japan and it is not doing well at all, but Microsoft is not ready to call it quits just yet.
Having sold less than 25,000 units thus far, Microsoft is, naturally, not very happy with how the console is performing. Famitsu interviewed Takashi Sensui, Xbox Japan boss, about how the firm perceives these numbers.
"It's not as though we're satisfied with the current sales state," he said.
"We hope to continue through taking user feedback and improving [the Xbox One] and offering content that everyone can enjoy. We are also aware that reaching out to let more people know about the Xbox One is vital. However, the current console generation has become very long. We hope to lay out a long-term vision and to focus on publicity for our console. Taking the first step was very important, and as for how to permeate the market from here, we hope to continue to do our best."
Microsoft's head of Xbox division, Phil Spencer, was also interviewed, and said that Japanese developers and Japan as a whole are important to Microsoft, and that the firm still has a long road to spread Xbox One in the region.
Thanks, Kotaku.
