Microsoft announces Kinect Sports Rivals World Championship, grand prize is $10,000
Microsoft has announced today it's holding a Kinect Sports Rivals championship as "the first ever global motion-sports competition."
The championship will see the winner get $10,000 in cash and a trip to Bora Bora, the Great Wall of China, Machu Picchu, or the Swiss Alps. Second to eleventh places also get to win cash prizes ranging from $5,000 to $500 each.
The tourney begins online starting April 8 in the US, Canada, Mexico, Australia and Brazil, and April 11 in the UK, France and Germany. The final showdown will be a live, in-person event on July at the San Diego Comic-Con, where finalists from each participating country will battle it out.
