Microsoft "actively engaged" with OnLive over possible Windows licensing violation

Microsoft has said in a statement it's "actively" working with OnLive after the latter possibly had a licensing violation in Windows 7 as part of its iOS and Android app.

The OnLive Desktop apps for iOS and Android tablets both feature full versions of Windows 7 and Microsoft Office, regardless if that person has bought them or not.

OnLive has given ZDNet what accounted to as a no comment on the matter. But Microsoft VP of worldwide licensing Joe Matz said it was in discussions with the cloud service.

"We are actively engaged with OnLive with the hope of bringing them into a properly licensed scenario, and we are committed to seeing this issue is resolved."
