Mew-Genics coming to iOS, involves pageants

We went on holiday but Team Meat apparently never rests; three more teaser updates have gone live since we last checked Mew-Genics out.

One recent update is perhaps the most informational yet, giving an idea of some of the game's mechanics:

"Are you ready to win your first kitty tiara? Do you think you have what it takes to take home the boon county crown? How rare is your cat? Does she have forked tail? How about a horn? *Does she randomly take dumps all over the place? If so its probably time to enter Mr. Tinkles annual Boon County cat pageant," Edmund McMillen wrote in the tenth update, noting that "points will be deducted for cats that crap on the stage".

I'm hereby dumping Mew-Genics in the "simulation" category.

This week's update is a more mysterious tease describing the "Cryo-Cube 5000", which makes it possible to freeze cats, food and neighbourhood squirrels, to preserve them for future generations, for display on the wall, and potentially to avoid arrest for animal abuse. Apparently.

The oldest update reveals Mew-Genics will run on iPad, but as McMillen notes, it isn't exclusive, and will release on multiple platforms".

Our roll-call of information so far is that Mew-Genics is very strange, random and involves cats; has at least five characters; has about 12,207,031,250,000,000,000,000 cats; and features randomly-generated trinkets. Check out the title theme.

Thanks, GameInformer.
