Metalocalypse: Dethgame officially declared dead
Fictional metal band/world superpower Deathklok has climbed the highest mountains and descended the darkest depths of the sea, all to deliver its headbang-friendly, amp-blasting brand of music to every corner of the earth. But there's one place so metal that you won't even find Deathklok's spike-encrusted boot-print there:
Xbox Live Arcade.
Dethgame, announced last summer, was set to be published by Konami, but quickly fell off the radar. And no wonder, because it's been canceled. According to Siliconera, it was Adult Swim who killed the Metalocalypse by taking back the license from Konami.
And thus, the sadly overlooked "play as a roadie who kills dudes in hoods with guitars" market will continue to be dominated by its awesome, yet unfortunately sole representative: Brutal Legend. Believe us, we are crying genuine tears over that fact. But, you know, metal tears. Tears of blood, nails, and snakes breathing fire. It is, as you'd expect, very nearly the most painful thing we've ever done.
