Metal Gear Survive has been delayed until next year
Metal Gear Survive, Konami's Kojima-less follow-up to Metal Gear Solid 5, will not release this year.
Metal Gear Survive is a spin-off about Mother Base soldiers that have been transported, through a wormhole, into a bizarre and zombie-filled alternate world. It's a co-op game about banding together to deal with hoards of zombies, set on a modified version of the Afghanistan map from The Phantom Pain. It was announced last year, but we haven't seen much of it since TGS last year. It's currently playable at E3.
During E3, Konami confirmed to Polygon that the game would no longer release in 2017. It has been pushed back into early 2018 to give the studio time to polish the game further. This means it'll miss the holiday period, but hopefully the game - the first Metal Gear game since Kojima and Konami parted ways - will be better.
Metal Gear Survive will be available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One next year. It'll have co-op for up to four players.
