Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain - Back Up, Back Down Mission Objectives

  • Eliminate an armoured vehicle
  • Eliminate multiple fighting vehicles or gunships
  • Eliminate all armoured vehicles without receiving a resupply or fire support
  • Secure the weapon the transport truck was carrying
  • Extract an armoured vehicle
  • Extract 4 soldiers searching or the escaped prisoner
  • Extract 6 prisoners
  • Extract 3 tanks

Eliminating armoured Soviet vehicles

It's worth investing in missile launchers before starting this mission, or you won't get very far in your rampage of destruction. All of the enemy vehicles are marked on your map, so find the closest one and head towards it, avoiding any outposts along the way - you're on the clock after all. Take out the tanks in any manner you choose.

You need to take out the tanks while they're in the mission area. If they leave, you can't follow them.

Eliminate a minimum of five to fulfill the 'multiple fighting vehicles' objective, and refrain from calling in supply drops and air support to tick off that objective.

If your fulton is upgraded enough, you can lift them back to Mother Base instead. Nab three tanks to complete the associated objective.

Secure the weapon the transport truck was carrying

You can either scout for the transport truck on the road, or find it at Yakho Oboo Supply Outpost.

Extract 4 soldiers searching or the escaped prisoner

You'll find the soldiers scouring the area to the east of outpost #12. They will eventually split into pairs, so have your tranquiliser gun at the ready to drop them. You don't want to spend too much time stalking them, so aim for the head to knock them out immediately.

Extract 6 prisoners

The prisoners are being held at Yakho Oboo Supply Outpost, and some of them are in enemy transports. Scope out the area to pinpoint their locations and rescue them.
