Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain - [Extreme] Backup, Back Down Mission Objectives

As the description suggests, this mission is the extreme remix of episode 9, which means no chicken hat, and no reflex mode.

  • Eliminate an armored vehicle
  • Eliminate multiple fighting vehicles or gunships
  • Eliminate all armored vehicles without receiving a resupply or fire support
  • Secure the weapon the transport truck was carrying
  • Extract an armored vehicle
  • Extract 4 soldiers searching for the escaped prisoner
  • Extract 6 prisoners
  • Extract 3 tanks

Eliminate the vehicles

If you want to get in and out quickly, head to Yakho Oboo Supply Outpost, stick some C4 onto the tank here, and blow it up.

More vehicles will start heading in, so make sure you have plenty of missiles - preemptively calling in supply drops if necessary - and take them out as they arrive. Feel free to plant C4 on the bridge leading in.

You might find it handy to have Quiet with you to snipe the guards at the outpost, leaving you to focus on the vehicles.

Don't forget to extract one of the armoured vehicles to tick off the fifth objective, and fulton three tanks to tick off the last.

Secure the weapon the transport truck was carrying

The weapon is on the truck at Yakho Oboo Supply Outpost. Fulton it out of there before everything kicks off.

Extract 4 soldiers searching for the escaped prisoner

The soldiers will be to the east of outpost #12. Quickly tranquilise and extract them.

Extract 6 prisoners

One of the prisoners is being held in the cell at Wakh Sind Barracks.

Another one is in the metal cell near the anti-air radar at Lamar Khaate Palace.

The third is being transported in a jeep.

The last three can be found around Lamar Khaate Palace to the north, northeast, and the east. Get to high ground and whip out your int-scope if you're having trouble spotting them.
