MGS 5: Ground Zeroes on PC, Pro Evo 15 sales "steady" in Q3 FY15

Konami has released its financials results for Q3 FY15, noting continued sales of Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes on PC and Pro Evolution Soccer 15, known in Japan as World Soccer Winning Eleven 2015.

As for computer and video games, Konami said it will continue to focus its efforts on global development utilizing its "production know-how", while also continuing the production of content for selected existing titles.

Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes sold 2 million units during the reporting period, Pro Evo 2015 3 million units.

Platform sales for PlayStation 3 came in at 35%, PS4 20%, Xbox 360 at 11%, PC 10% while Vita and Xbox One games sales both contributed 6% of sales.

Wii U, PSP, 3DS and "others" made up 2%, 3%, 4% and 3% of sales, respectively.

"In this way, we intend to enhance local production systems in order to develop localized content tailored to the needs of our overseas game users as quickly as possible," said the firm in its financial press release.

"In regards to the Metal Gear series, we developed promotional activities at 10 international game shows in various countries, and received favorable reviews. In addition, Pro Evolution Soccer 2015 and its new game mode, myClub, has received favorable reviews.

"This product is expected to consistently contribute to our profits due to in-game charges for online services."

For the nine months ending December 31, 214, Konami reported ¥156 billion ($1.3 billion) in net revenue and ¥6.9 billion ($58.7 million) in net income.

For the nine months ending December 31, 2014, the firm's Digital Entertainment sector which houses its video games business, reported ¥68 billion ($578 million) in revenue; however, operating income was up 40% to ¥8.3 billion($70 million).
