Mercenary Kings coming to PlayStation 4 in winter, dev excited by Vita multiplayer potential

Tribute Games' (Wizorb) shoot-em-up and Diablo crafting simulator Mercenary Kings is set to launch on the PlayStation 4 sometime "this winter". In addition to launching with co-op multiplayer, Tribute Games also hinted that a PlayStation Vita version might be in the works, with the ability to play co-op with PlayStation 4 copies of the game.

Currently on sale as part of Steam's Early Access program, Tribute Games describes Mercenary Kings as a mix of the familiar shoot-em-up format and modern innovations, such as the game's 300 mix-n-matchable gun parts.

Insofar as inferring a Vita version is in the works, Tribute Games wrote this on the PlayStation Blog: "And while it’s still early for us to talk about it, the connectivity possibilities between PS4 and Vita are quite exciting for further multiplayer mayhem". I bet the game's sprites would look incredible on the Vita's OLED.

Thanks, Joystiq.
