Mega Man 2 composer Takashi Tateishi joins Mighty No. 9 project

Keiji Inafune's Mighty No. 9 project has secured Mega Man 2 composer Takashi Tateishi.

Insanely, the game's Kickstarter page is still funding with 34 hours left on the clock. It's made $3,028,976 of its initial $900,000 goal. So it's a success then.

This page update confirms that Tateishi - who is now CEO of his own music business Most Company - has re-arranged his hectic schedule to allow him to work on the game's score. He joins Mega Man 9, Mega Man 10 and Resident Evil composer Ippo Yamada, as well as Mighty No. 9's main theme composer Manami Matsumae.

Tateishi did this, and it's brilliant:

The update adds, "Tateishi-san's tunes are the type you can't get out of your head, the kind you find yourself humming in the shower, or covering in your band — it's no accident they've become some of the best-known songs in all of gaming! We hope you agree this is a really big deal, both to us personally as fans, and for the project overall."

Mighty No 9. is due to release on PC, Mac, Linux, PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii U. The campaign also has PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PS Vita and Nintendo 3DS as stretch goals.
