Mad Max release date set for September, PS3 and Xbox 360 versions canned
Mad Max from Just Cause developer Avalanche Studios has been given a September release date, along with the new of a last-gen cancellation.
The axing of the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions were announced via Game Informer. Mad Max is the magazine's featured game for the April issue.
Avalanche, according GI, nixed development on the last-gen version in order to optimize the PC and current-gen release.
In a press release issued by Warner Bros., those who pre-order Mad Max will receive an additional Magnum Opus car body called The Ripper. It sports a V8 engine, upgraded exhaust with custom off-road tires, a ramming grill and a tuned suspension "so it can take on a variety of Wasteland surfaces."
Also revealed today was box art for the game which is posted below.
Mad Max releases on September 1 in North America and September 4 in the UK for PC, PS4, SteamOS, and Xbox One.
Originally set for a 2014 release, Avalanche announced in April last year the title had been pushed into 2015.
