LucasArts aiming to create "authentic, immersive" Star Wars games
LucasArts president Paul Doogan has said it's looking to make "immersive" Star Wars titles internally.
"LucasArts is a company with tremendous potential. I think people look at it and wonder why it hasn’t done better in recent years," Doogan told MCV.
"Lucasfilm has some of the most beloved and powerful brands in entertainment, we have a loyal community of fans, and talented people in every discipline. We’re surrounded by staggeringly bright and creative people at the top of their games."
He admitted that LA "hasn’t always" lived up to expectations whilst developing games.
"We should be making games that define our medium, that are competitive with the best of our industry, but we’re not.
"That has to change. Our priority is to create authentic, immersive, high quality Star Wars games.”
Two Star Wars titles will be on show at E3 next week, both of which made externally: Terminal Reality's Kinect-based title and MMO The Old Republic from BioWare.
Last August, it was reported that it was looking pull in Star Wars development internally after The Old Republic releases.
