Life-to-date DS sales numbers are now beyond those of Game Boy.

Game Boy launched in Japan in April 1989, with an European release in September 1990. Its biggest-selling title was Tetris at 30 million units, with its Pokemon games - Red, Blue and Yellow - having combined sales of 31 million.

The last SKU release of the handheld was Micro, shipping in September 2005 in Japan, before launching in Europe two months later.
