Love beta going live this week
Love dev Eskil Steenberg's confirmed that the quirky MMO's beta is to go live on January 7.
As with the game's alpha, you're going to have to pay to get involved.
Love's beta is to cost €3 for 30 days play, and this time there'll be no penalty for switching servers, which is a bonus.
Steenberg explained that the idea of a "full release" for the painterly game may not evolve in the traditional sense, you're going to get a good idea of the finished product with the beta.
"Beta means 'feature complete', meaning that all functionality planed for the full release have been implemented, so its got loads of new cool stuff that I don't want to spoil," he said.
He added as a caveat that this "doesn't mean everything works, or that I won't come to the conclusion that changes needs to be made."
Be warned: you're on your own here.
"Love is a very different game, and not one that is easy to get in to," Steenberg said.
"It's a game that's most people start to appreciate over time. There is no hand-holding, no glowing arrows, no female voice telling you what to do, and no quests."
Do it. You owe it to yourself.
