Lost Planet 3 out early 2013, Spark Unlimited developing
Lost Planet 3 is a real thing. The sequel, unveiled at Captivate, shows Spark Unlimited is developing the game for an early 2013 launch on PS3 and 360.
Capcom is set to launch Lost Planet 3 early next year, the publisher announced in Rome last week at Captivate. The game's debut video got out ahead of a general 4pm embargo this afternoon.
The trailer begins with a man named Jim running from a creature chasing after him in a station of some sorts. The pair then emerge to the series's traditional snowy environment, where a standoff brews between the two.
jim shoots the creature chasing after him, but comes across a second monster. He has run of ammo and legs it to find a frozen mech, which emerges after being 'awoken'.
Bleeding from his earlier encounter, Jim gets into the mech and sees the second enemy run away. A bigger monster then appears to take on the mech, but is eventually taken down.
A storm is then approaching on the horizon, to which the man in the mech escapes from. The game's new logo then appears and confirms a 2013 launch for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
Spark Unlimited, who did Legendary: The Box and Turning Point: Fall of Liberty, is developing the game. The past two games have been made internally at Capcom in 2006 and 2010 respectively for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. A PC SKU for LP3 wasn't mentioned in the trailer.
