Lord of Ultima to close in May, users offered all ministers for remaining play time
Browser-based MMORTS Lord of Ultima will be closing for good in a couple of months.
The closure of the Phenomic-developed title was announced on its own forums, with shut down scheduled for approximately 7:00AM UTC on May 12.
"It is always hard when we are met with such choices and the decision to retire older games is never an easy one. We cannot thank those who have supported us enough, and throughout the years of Lord of Ultima’s existence it has been the pleasure of both past and present developers to have been on this journey with you," the team wrote.
Players are urged to spend their in-game currency now, as refunds will not be offered. Both new registrations and Play4Free purchases have been disabled.
Some newer worlds may be accelerated to allow players a chance to compete with more established servers.
"The race to be the final Lords will continue however until the closing date so if you’re already on your way to the end game, you still have your chance to become one of Caledonia’s final victors," Phenomic added.
"Will you end your time in Caledonia as a proud Lord or an honourable warrior fighting until the end?"
The team provided a code to allow all players to enjoy all four ministers for the next 90 days: GZFS-BKFR-LUXS-V36S
