LittleBigPlanet "exciting announcement" promised for tomorrow
Sony has eschewed its usual weekly update on happenings in the LittleBigPlanet community in favour of teasing an "exciting" announcement.
UPDATE: Sony has just tweeted this image:
Don't take this as confirmation of anything, but the pic does suggest we could see something LittleBigPlanet-related in Cologne next week.
ORIGINAL STORY: "There's no weekly LBP Update today but stay tuned to the PlayStation Blog because we have an exciting announcement coming tomorrow instead," the franchise's Twitter announced.
Although there's no clue as to what the announcement may pertain to, the delay of the regular news blast suggests something more than the usual DLC or UGC milestone updates.
A third core entry in the series, LittleBigPlanet 3, has been expected for some time. Interestingly, we were told earlier this year that Sumo Digital is behind the new game. Later evidence certainly seemed to back this up.
While earlier speculation pegged the new game for a PlayStation 3 launch, at this stage it's hard not to speculate that we may see a PS4 announcement.
It's worth remembering that original creator Media Molecule still hasn't revealed its mystery project, either.
Thanks, Gematsu.
