Linkle may return in future The Legend of Zelda games
The Legend of Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma hasn't ruled out Linkle making a return appearance.
New Zelda character Linkle makes her debut in spin-off Hyrule Warriors Legends, but she might not be a one-off.
"She doesn’t feel out of place at all in the world of the Zelda games," series producer Aonuma told IGN.
"I'm sure we will keep her in mind when thinking about future titles."
Concept art for Linkle was included in Japanese promotional materials for the original Hyrule Warriors, and fan response inspired the Zelda team to push for her inclusion in the Legends 3DS re-release.
"Seeing that reaction, [Team Ninja's Yosuke Hayashi] and I talked it over and decided that we would definitely like to include her in the next title. I'm really glad we got the chance to do that with Hyrule Warriors Legends," Aonuma said.
The full interview is pretty interesting, and provides a bit of background for who Linkle is; she's not just a genderbent Link but a character in her own right.
Hyrule Warriors Legends hits 3DS in the west in March 2016.
